In Puerto Rico, a group of rescuers stumbled upon a heartbreaking sight – a dog named Caci who had been subjected to horrendous abuse that left her barely recognizable as a dog. Her body was riddled with wounds, and her face was swollen beyond recognition. It was impossible to determine who inflicted this pain on her, but the most crucial thing was that she was now safe and far away from her abuser.
The rescuers immediately took Caci under their care and provided her with the necessary medical attention she needed. Despite their best efforts, the doctors were unsure if she would survive, but they promised to give their all to make sure she pulled through.
After her clinic visit, she had an adverse reaction to the medication prescribed, which caused significant swelling in her face. The swelling eventually reduced, but it left her looking like a dog. Her story was widely shared by the New York Bully Crew on social media, gaining global attention. People from all over followed her progress, and fortunately, things started to get better for her.
As time went by, Caci’s health was improving steadily. She loved to frolic around the clinic and was becoming more adventurous every day. Despite experiencing abuse in the past, she displayed remarkable kindness towards everyone she encountered. Typically, dogs that have suffered at the hands of humans are often scared and wary of people, but not Caci. She still enjoyed being petted and was incredibly trusting.
After getting spayed and regaining her health, she was all set to head to New York and be adopted by the New York Bully Crew. Her condition has significantly improved and she’s thriving! She enjoys playing with new canine friends and living life to the fullest. The only missing piece is finding a forever home, and NYBC is committed to helping her find one.
