A family from Montreal, Canada, stumbled upon a stray mother cat and her kittens in their backyard. Among the kittens, one was found concealed within a cinder block with one leg sticking out. This particular kitten was extremely timid, putting in all efforts to remain hidden.
Stefany and her mother Johanne, two dedicated animal rescuers, quickly responded to the family’s plea for help. By the time they arrived, the cat mother had moved all of her kittens except for one that was hiding in the building.
Unfortunately, the mother cat did not return for the frightened little kitten. When they picked it up, they noticed that it was nothing but skin and bones.
While in the process of searching for the remaining members of the feline family, they reached out to their local rescue organization, Chatons Orphelins Montreal, to ensure that the kitten received adequate medical attention and had the highest possibility of finding a caring home.
“The name given to her by her rescuers was Dayze. She was only five weeks old when they found her, and she was weak and malnourished.” Love Meow and Chatons Orphelins Montreal joined forces to work on this collaborative project.
On that particular day, they took care of the cat and made sure she was well-fed. While attending to her, both Stepany and her mother noticed something unusual about one of her paws – it was significantly larger than the others.
After investigating further, they discovered that Dayze had a deformity in the joint of her paw, resulting in a bent front leg. Fortunately, they were able to secure an appointment with a specialist to address the issue. In the meantime, Dayze coped well with her condition, using her little scooter to navigate without causing any discomfort.
As Dayze grows older, they will continue to closely monitor her paw and ensure she receives the necessary care. Despite her unique physical feature, Dayze remains a beloved member of their family.
Once Dayze felt safe and secure in her new environment, she underwent a remarkable transformation. Savoring the delicious meals and enjoying the comfort of her cozy household, the kitten started to emerge from her shell and grow both physically and in terms of her unique personality. In no time at all, she blossomed into a little diva, exuding a charming and sassy character.
Dayze’s next adventure began when she was placed in her new foster home after being weaned. Here, she had the opportunity to socialize and mingle with other kittens her age. Adjusting quickly, she wasted no time in making herself at home and demanding the attention of everyone around her.
Dayze is no longer the timid cat they discovered in the concrete block. She revels in the company of her family, joyfully running around the house as if it belongs to her. She insists on being near them and eagerly seeks out pets and cuddles whenever she pleases.
“When she rests, she wholeheartedly attaches herself to her foster mother and eagerly snuggles up right beside her pillow,” stated the rescue organization to Love Meow.
“Over time, she has developed into a spirited feline who asserts her independence by choosing her own actions and deciding when she wants to do them. While she enjoys interacting with fellow kittens during playtime, she always takes on the role of being the leader.”
Dayze has transformed into a confident young feline who adores snuggling. With endless enthusiasm, she eagerly climbs anything within her reach. “Her favorite cat tree has become her very own stronghold.”
This kitty has made great progress and is now in search of a permanent loving home.
