Four days ago, Meagan received a notification about a kitten in dire need of assistance from Puppy Kitty NYCity, an animal rescue organization based in NYC.
While working at a construction site, a worker came across the sound of a distressed kitten emanating from an abandoned house. Upon discovering the source, she found a tiny tabby in a feeble and chilly state, unable to lift her head. As soon as Meagan received the video message from the person who found the kitten, she hurried to the location to rescue her. The kitten was alone, without any mother or siblings, yet demonstrated a strong determination to survive, her cries guiding the kind-hearted people to her whereabouts.
When Meagan acquired the kitten, she brought her into her car and settled her on a heating pad. The crying ceased as the pleasant warmth enveloped the kitten’s body, allowing her to unwind and find comfort.
During the journey to the vet, the kitten’s energy dwindled, leaving Meagan concerned about her survival. However, Meagan remained resolute in giving the tiny feline a fighting chance.
When they reached the veterinary clinic, the tabby cat was still gasping for breath and struggling to hang on with all her strength. The vet wasted no time in providing her with fluids to restore her hydration levels, ensuring she stayed warm throughout the process. With continuous care being provided around the clock, the situation began to take a positive turn.
“I didn’t know she would recover until I had already left her at the hospital, and she showed signs of improvement,” Meagan shared with Love Meow. When the kitten finally awakened from a long nap, she displayed remarkable strength and curiosity, even managing to lift her head and explore her surroundings. Despite facing numerous challenges, she persevered with an unwavering determination.
“We are witnessing a miracle. She has truly made an astonishing recovery. It’s almost unbelievable, and we couldn’t be more ecstatic.”
The feline they affectionately named Yankee has bounced back with an insatiable hunger and an abundance of vitality. When Meagan collected her from the veterinary clinic yesterday, the tabby wasted no time in expressing her sassy personality.
“She’s such a spirited little girl, and you can see her strong will to survive from the moment she cried out for help to the workers in the old house where she was found,” Meagan revealed to Love Meow.
Yankee quickly realized that chin scratches were quite enjoyable. Despite a few initial hisses, she transformed into a gentle and affectionate ball of fur, completely melting into Meagan’s hand as she lovingly stroked her.
In just four days, Yankee has made significant progress. She now delights in bouncing around the house, playing with her toys, and exploring every nook and cranny. “It brings us joy to witness the happiness and good health of sweet baby Yankee.”
During the rescue, many generous individuals extended their assistance. Among them, one person turned out to be the ideal companion for the tabby girl.
“We found her at the brink of death when we arrived on the scene. However, her condition has dramatically improved, and we are delighted to announce that she has now found her permanent, loving home.”
