In this instance, a furry little girl has captured the hearts of many, sparking a wave of solidarity all aimed at helping to save her life.
This particular crossbred animal is just one among the many furry residents being looked after by Causes for Animals, a Singapore-based non-profit dedicated to supporting and providing for vulnerable animals in need.
Mandai first became involved with the organization as a recipient of a program that focuses on sterilizing stray dogs. These animals are not just rescued, but also receive free sterilization, food, and medical care. However, a serious health problem prompted the organization to provide Mandai with additional support and assistance.
Mandai has developed a small bump on her nose which has now increased in size, making it hard for her to eat or drink easily. These basic tasks have become quite challenging for her, and her health may be at risk.
Due to the complicated situation, Mandai Mama was taken in by the organization and brought to the Animal World Veterinary clinic for various tests and examinations to better understand her condition. After rescuing her, Causes for Animals reached out for support on Facebook to raise funds for her upcoming surgery.
Regrettably, the news that they had been dreading was confirmed in a report published on April 16. The tumor has been diagnosed as malignant and cannot be surgically removed. The CT scan of Mandai Mama showed that the tumor is inoperable and the cancer has already spread. At this point, she will only require hospice care.
The canine is currently being looked after at an organization named Gentle Paws, which provides a safe haven for elderly dogs, and still requires the support of the community.
