We all adore a happy ending, but every story has its share of hardships at the beginning. Take Cala, for example, a guard-dog for a mechanic in San Jose, Costa Rica. She lived a heartbreaking life, chained up so tightly that she couldn’t even rest her head or breathe properly. Malnourished and wounded, she was in a pitiful state. Fortunately, she was rescued and taken to Territorio de Zaguates, an animal shelter where she slowly started to heal. However, Cala faced another challenge when heartless individuals tried to harm the dogs by feeding them poisoned sausages. Tragically, 16 dogs lost their lives, and Cala suffered from neurological issues as a result. Despite these setbacks, Cala’s story has a silver lining as she eventually found a loving family that cared for her, restoring her faith in humanity once more. Cala had a tough and drawn-out road to recovery that was filled with plenty of discomfort.
In addition to being physically frail, Cala struggled to trust both humans and other dogs.
Despite the challenging and prolonged recovery journey, the rescue team remained steadfast in their commitment to assisting her.
Before long, Cala had fully recovered and was back to her usual self.
Despite overcoming her illness, another challenge soon presented itself in her life.
Cruel individuals entered the shelter on the sly and gave the dogs sausages tainted with poison.
The tragedy resulted in the loss of 16 dogs and left Cala with neurological issues.
However, Cala proved to be a resilient dog, as she bravely battled through obstacles to stay alive.
Presently, Cala is enjoying the greatest life she could have imagined. Embracing her new and caring family, she is open to trusting once more.
