While Adri and her companion were on a remote road heading back to their Georgia home, they were surprised to spot a Beagle wandering across the road. Worried about the dog’s safety, they quickly pulled over to help. Upon picking her up, they felt a wave of sadness seeing the scared and lonely look on the pup’s face.
Adri gently petted the little Beagle and comforted her, promising that she would be safe. Determined to help, the couple decided to bring her home with them.
Their mission now was to earn Mocha’s trust and show her that she was loved and cared for.
The rescuers lovingly named the dog ‘Mocha’ and started to bond with her at a gentle pace. They took their time hand-feeding her and earning her trust.
Worried that Mocha may have been separated from her puppies, they took her back to where she was found. Despite searching the area, they were unable to locate the puppies.
Adri and her partner were heartbroken upon realizing that Mocha had been abandoned by her owners after giving birth.
They decided to introduce Mocha to the other rescue dogs in their care to help her socialize and feel more at ease in her new environment.
The couple introduced Mocha to their rescued dogs, and that moment marked a positive change. The other dogs accepted Mocha and played with her outside, making her feel like a part of the family. Adri tried to connect with Mocha through the glass patio door since she was hesitant to let her come close.
Initially, Adri would place her hand on the door, calling Mocha to come closer. Seeing the other dogs respond to Adri at the door, Mocha slowly started to join them. Although still scared, Mocha felt more comfortable interacting with Adri through the glass. Whenever Adri opened the door, Mocha would retreat.
Over time, Adri extended her hand through the door, and Mocha responded with affectionate kisses. Eventually, Mocha began to feel safe and secure in her new home.
After four weeks had passed, something magical happened. Mocha approached Adri and sat next to her. Adri was ecstatic because it was the first time Mocha had come to her on her own.
“It was amazing when she sat next to me without looking for a way out. I didn’t even have any treats to offer her. I could see her eyes were a bit anxious, but she stayed there with me,” Adri shared.
Adri and her partner showed Mocha love and care, and she began to trust them completely. With their affection and patience, Mocha’s fears melted away.
Initially, Adri and her partner had planned to find Mocha a loving home, but as time went on, it became clear that her home was already with them in Georgia.
We’re delighted that Mocha found a wonderful family who loves her unconditionally. The pup has finally found the happy home she always dreamed of.
