When Pinocchio, a sweet kitty, arrived at the Friends for Life Rescue Network, it was clear that he needed urgent medical care despite his positive attitude. The doctors were prepared to help him heal, but they were not prepared for the remarkable transformation that followed.
Despite his troubled history, Pinocchio quickly became a lovable feline upon his arrival at the Los Angeles shelter. He had several health concerns that required attention, making his road to recovery a challenging one. With a crooked jaw that gave him a playful smirk and evident signs of malnourishment, it was clear that he had been neglected for some time. The caring staff immediately provided him with two hearty meals, which he eagerly devoured before curling up in a snug bed for a well-deserved snooze.
Within a short period of time, Pinochhio was feeling increasingly stronger with each passing hour. He was staying active and starting to develop his muscles. However, it wasn’t just strength that he needed. The medical team noticed a significant change in his chest shape compared to his previous scans. This was affecting his breathing and he was also struggling with an upper-respiratory infection and dealing with the discomfort of an umbilical hernia.
The concerns extended beyond just providing food and rest; given Pinocchio’s young age of only three months old, he needed especially careful attention due to his fragile body. However, he showed his resilience and emerged from surgery with a renewed sense of vigor. Following the procedures, Jacqueline and the team paid a visit to the Animal Specialty and Emergency Center where the surgeries were performed to check on the little guy. He greeted them with a chorus of purrs, showcasing his recovery and progress.
Jacqueline mentioned that Pinochio made quite an impression on everyone in the medical team while he was recovering from surgery. They said that he snored so loudly that they couldn’t even hear his heartbeat, showing what a good and sweet boy he is.
In the end, Pinochio was on his way to finding a forever home, but in the meantime, Jacqueline brought him to her place where he got his own new bed and a soft toy to cuddle with. His breathing improved noticeably, the flea problem was completely taken care of, and he appeared to be genuinely happy and enthusiastic about his new life.
“I came back home yesterday to find my lively little boy asking for lots of scratches. He’s been on his feet and is gradually improving, becoming more energetic each day,” shared Jaqueline. To showcase his progress and newfound strength, Pinocchio proudly wore a Superman shirt during the initial days! He truly was a pint-sized, fluffy superhero.”
Jacqueline described Pinochio as still having his vibrant spirit. He is a resilient, affectionate feline with a penchant for purring loudly. Whenever Jacqueline enters the room, he eagerly jumps out of bed and approaches her for some love and attention. From being a helpless kitten in need of care, Pinochio has now transformed into a pampered VIP living his best life.
