“Home for the Holidays: A Stray Dog’s Christmas Miracle”

Just like Mary sought shelter in a barn during Jesus’ birth, this street dog in Mexico’s Palenque found solace in a barnacle filled with straw to deliver her litter of seven puppies. A charming Nativity scene was set up in the town’s main square, complete with the usual festive figures portraying a peaceful scene. However, the addition of a pregnant stray dog has brought a touch of unexpected warmth to the display.

It seems the adorable dog found solace in the Christmas nativity scene and decided to make it her temporary home. Seeking shelter from the chilly streets, she curled up in the straw and even offered to be a source of light if necessary. Eric Guzmán, a keen-eyed journalist, stumbled upon this heartwarming sight and found the dog nestled comfortably among the nativity props.

Upon further investigation, Eric was surprised to find that the dog had just given birth to seven precious puppies. With limited choices, it appeared that the dog had picked the Christmas birth scene as a tranquil and welcoming spot to bring her little ones into the world.

“He was surprised and relieved to discover that his puppies were in a secure place,” Eric shared with The Dodo. “They were dry and warm at all times,” he added. It’s worth noting that although Palenque is typically warm year-round, the temperatures start to drop in December, leading to a common sight of dogs seeking shelter.

Eric started sharing the story about the dog and her puppies in the stable, and since then, a lot of people from Palenque have come to see them, some even bringing snacks and drinks. Notably, even the authorities in the area have joined in and decided to let the dog and her family stay as long as they need.

In addition to mentioning holiness, the compassionate individuals at Dejando Huellitas SOS Palenque are also making sure that the dogs receive proper care both now and in the long run while actively searching for forever homes for them.

Eric doesn’t see the puppies being born in the Christmas manger as a miraculous event, but he does hope it will make a positive impact. He believes it could raise awareness about stray dogs and inspire people to adopt them instead of purchasing them. He emphasizes the importance of loving and caring for these animals, regardless of where they come from.
