Hayden Howard had a gut feeling that something was off with her canine companion one fine spring day. As she lounged around in the comfort of her home, her beloved English mastiff named Jackson frolicked energetically in the backyard.
When she gave him a ring, he seemed to have fallen victim to a merciless insect attack. Taking a closer glimpse at the wounds, she discovered that they were even more gruesome than initially anticipated.
In an interview, Hayden recounted her overwhelming astonishment that left her bewildered. As soon as she discovered that Jackson had been wounded by a gunshot, she quickly rushed him to the veterinary clinic for immediate attention. To her shock, the veterinarian found multiple minuscule bullets lodged in various parts of the dog’s body upon examination.
As Hayden described, “There was one bullet stuck right beneath his eyelid, another in his ear, and yet another in his knee.”
To safely remove the numerous bullets lodged in Jackson’s body, the veterinarian had to resort to shaving off a significant amount of his hair. After a meticulous procedure, a total of 27 bullets were successfully extracted. However, in order to prevent any potential harm, it was necessary for the veterinarian to leave approximately 20 more bullets within the dog’s body.
In addition, the veterinarian made a shocking discovery – Jackson’s body had been inflicted with 20 more gunshot wounds. It was absolutely incomprehensible how someone could be so heartless towards a defenseless dog, especially when it had not harmed anyone. It was believed that the bullets had been fired from a neighboring yard, triggering a full-scale search by the police to find the perpetrator responsible for this horrific act. It didn’t take long for them to uncover hidden ammunition and a firearm in a nearby house, which happened to be the residence of the next-door neighbor. Alarmingly, this individual had a prior criminal record related to drug offenses.
I genuinely wish for the offender responsible for the harm inflicted upon Jackson to be given a substantial prison term and be held accountable for this despicable behavior. Additionally, I hope that once released, they are prohibited from causing harm to any more innocent animals. Despite a severe injury, Jackson is making a swift recovery, as reported by Hayden. I truly hope that Jackson achieves full recovery and can safely frolic in the garden once more in the near future.
