The tiny kitten is so petite that he has to sport a guinea pig cone around his neck after undergoing leg surgery.

Kitten is So Small that He Wears a Guinea Pig Cone After Getting His Leg Fixed

Finnegan, a tiny ginger kitten also known as Finn, had a bit of a rocky beginning to his young life. Fortunately, a kind-hearted person rescued him from a scary situation where he was being attacked by another animal. Despite his close call, Finn wasn’t in the clear just yet – his front right leg was badly broken. The good folks who found him did their best to help by fashioning a splint for his leg and reaching out to different animal rescues for assistance. Caroline Grace, the compassionate founder of Baby Kitten Rescue, shared the story of Finn’s rescue and how they immediately agreed to take him in and provide him with the care he needed. As a result of his injury, Finn had to wear a guinea pig cone to protect his leg, showcasing just how small and vulnerable he truly was.

After being found with a broken leg, little Finn was quickly taken to an animal hospital for treatment. X-rays showed that his humerus bone was fractured, prompting Dr. Jacobo at Primary Care Animal Hospital to perform emergency surgery the following day. Despite Finn’s tender age of just 3.5 weeks old and weighing only 0.6 lbs, the skilled veterinarian was able to operate on him and mend his broken leg with precision.

Finn had an external fixator attached to keep the pins in position (which will be taken out once he has fully recovered). The following day after being released, Finn was already up and about, showing signs of playfulness.
“We were astonished by Finn’s strength and resilience post-surgery. He recovered quickly and within a week, he was already putting weight on his leg again.”

After undergoing leg surgery, Finn returned home wearing a small cone around his neck. Despite his size, Finn exudes a bold personality, always full of energy and enthusiasm. During a visit to the vet for a check-up, it was evident that the cone was too big for him. Thus, they decided to explore different options in order to find the perfect fit for Finn.

After realizing that the new cone was too large, they began experimenting with different sizes. They eventually settled on the smallest cat cone that could fit comfortably. Despite it being almost as big as Finn, the kitten never seemed to mind. He happily played around and even used the cone as a cozy pillow during nap time. Finn remained unfazed by the oversized and awkward cones, showing his easygoing nature.

@babykittenrescue shared that due to his small size, they had trouble finding a cone that fit him just right. The hospital had to make a custom tiny cone for him initially, but the one made for his follow-up appointment was too large. After looking around, they discovered the ideal solution – guinea pig cones, which ended up fitting him perfectly.

The moment he donned his fresh Elizabethan collar, he began frolicking with youthful energy. He happily tumbled on Caroline’s lap and even attempted to “assist” her with her phone.

Finn couldn’t resist the temptation to play with Caroline’s phone. According to @babykittenrescue, despite facing trauma, leg pins, and having to wear a cone, Finn remains the most delightful and playful kitten. Caroline mentioned to Love Meow that Finn’s spirit is unbroken, and he exudes happiness and joy despite his challenges. This ginger boy is a shining example of resilience and positivity.

Finn loves hanging out with the house cat, Chester, and he’s always in play mode, no pause button in sight.
Since he’s feeling healthy and up for some socializing, Finn got to meet Frankie, another foster kitten, for some supervised playtime.

@babykittenrescue discovered Frankie with paralyzed back legs, but thanks to a second opportunity, he is now fully mobile and can do all the things that other cats can do. When Finn, who was smaller in size, met Frankie for the first time, he showed great courage and curiosity. Finn even followed Frankie around the house and demonstrated how to play with toys.

Finn and Frankie have the cutest bond as they get to know each other and form a budding friendship. Despite Finn’s small size and need for guinea pig cones, his brave heart makes him think he can conquer the world.
