Meet Frankie, affectionately known as Frankenkitten, due to his unique features. With four ears and a missing eye, Frankie is truly one of a kind. Despite his differences, Frankie doesn’t let it bother him and simply enjoys life to the fullest. Rescued from under a suburban house along with a sibling, Frankie has faced his fair share of challenges but has adapted well with the support of his foster family. Georgi Anderson, the proud owner of Frankie the cat, shared that Frankie was found under a suburban house with a feral mother by his side. Frankie was discovered with at least one surviving sibling, although there could have been others that didn’t make it. The compassionate homeowners took in Frankie and his brother, spending weeks socializing them and ensuring they were well-fed before taking them to the shelter for necessary medical attention and finding them new forever homes.
People are immediately drawn to his unique feature – four ears! In addition, his oversized overbite gives his face a distinct angular look. Although he initially had two eyes, one had to be removed due to a rupture. Frankie also faces challenges with his hind legs, as his knees don’t align properly, causing him to walk with a splay-legged gait and frequent knee dislocations.

Georgie mentioned that his pet has an overbite, causing his lower canines to pierce through the roof of his mouth. Additionally, his pet needs surgery on his knees to stabilize the joints, but the procedure is expensive. Georgie is currently saving up for the surgery. Furthermore, his pet has undergone dental work to trim his lower canines to just a few millimeters above the gum line.
He walked into the shelter with both eyes unharmed, but unfortunately, one of his eyes had been injured and needed surgical removal.
Removing the eye saved his life, as the infection would have worsened and caused his death if left untreated.
When Frankie arrived at the animal shelter, I happened to be working there as a foster caregiver. I gladly took him in to care for him for a week while he recovered from his eye surgery.
I was attracted to him not just because of his appearance, but because of his gentle nature, his curiosity about the world around him, and how he found solace in my presence.
I went to see him before his surgery and immediately noticed his gentle demeanor. As he recovered at home over the next few hours, I realized he had a unique quality that was challenging for me to describe.
The physical aspects of his condition impact his daily life. His unique front ears slightly affect his hearing directionally, serving almost like little earmuffs for his proper ears. Although he has adjusted well to having only one eye, it’s clear that his night vision is not as sharp as my other cats. Despite his splay-legged walk, his legs do not cause him any pain or hinder his ability to play and jump. The biggest challenge is his mouth, as he struggles to eat wet food due to his difficulty grasping it. He is on a dry food-only diet now and has developed a clever technique of using his tongue to pick up kibble and bring it into his mouth, bypassing the use of his teeth.
Frankie’s daily routine involves finding cozy spots to nap and surprising me every morning as I prepare breakfast by trying to climb up my leg before quickly darting away. This normal behavior keeps things lively in our household. Credit for the image goes to frank_n_kitten.

Despite not being the brightest cat around, which is a common trait in cats with four ears, I wouldn’t trust him outside as he might mistake a car for a toy. However, his lack of smarts is overshadowed by his loving and affectionate nature. It’s almost like he has the personality of a dog, always knowing when you need some extra love after a tough day.
Frankie is a shining example of the inner beauty that pets possess. His bond with his owners is truly special, and it’s evident that they bring out the best in each other.
