A married couple bought an old house on November 1st and discovered a dog that seemed to have been abandoned for a while. Marisa, from the organization Coraço100dono, brought the dog to the vet as it was malnourished and had bones protruding beneath its skin.
The real estate agent mentioned that since the previous homeowner didn’t have a dog, it seems likely that Valentine was left in the house by someone who locked the gate, preventing him from getting out. Valentine remained unseen until the new owners arrived.
Our little guy survived on nothing but rainwater for a few weeks, plagued by fleas and parasites which are still evident today. Despite his hardships, his eyes reveal a strong desire to keep going. The very next day, Marisa welcomed him back into her care at the sanctuary. Valentine’s story quickly gained traction across social media platforms.
Vale is happily devouring his appetizer, and Marisa finally took him for a much-awaited stroll outdoors. Since he was rescued, our little guy has managed to put on a kilo in just three days…
He is now able to walk properly and have fun with his friends; although he still has a lot of progress to make, he can now relax and rest in a cozy bed.
