Upon arriving at the scene, they were shocked to find a Weimaraner mix named Alex in such a malnourished state that he could barely move. Rushing him to Vermilion Parish’s Rabies Animal Control, the workers discovered through an X-ray that Alex had been eating rocks and twigs to survive. It was a heartbreaking sight, but thankfully, Alex is now in good hands and receiving the care he needs to fully recover. This story has a happy ending as Alex has found a new family who will cherish and care for him.
On his path to recovery, Alex had the company of a woman named Diane Lundeen, who initially took him into foster care with the idea that it would be temporary. However, as time passed, their bond deepened, leading Diane to ultimately decide to adopt him herself. During their time together, Alex’s physical and emotional transformation was remarkable.
