Thor’s owner in Sao Paulo, Brazil discovered their beloved dog with quills deeply embedded all over its body. The photos revealed a furry golden brown pup with an unusual fashion statement of yellow feathers adorning its face, ears, and legs.
Unable to foot the expensive vet bill, Adriano Bertoline, an individual currently without a job, took matters into his own hands by creating a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for Thor’s much-needed medical treatment.
Local politician Dr. Jose Roberto Apolari came to the rescue, rushing Thor to the hospital and providing financial support. The brave three-year-old reportedly faced off with a porcupine for the second time in a year, sustaining severe wounds.

When the dog owner reached out to City Councilor Dr. Jose Roberto Apolari for help, he gladly stepped in to assist. Adriano showed his gratitude in a heartfelt Facebook post, calling Dr. Apolari an angel in his dog’s life since he couldn’t afford a private vet. Adriano, who is currently unemployed and has four children to care for, was touched when the city council not only took Thor to the vet but also paid for the visit and brought the dog back home.
Thor’s owner mentioned that this was the second time the dog had crossed paths with a porcupine within a year. Back in February 2021, Adriano’s pal, who was employed at a private vet clinic at the time, lent a hand in caring for the wounded pooch.
The porcupine was being confronted by a dog, but it was uncertain at first how the dog was faring in the confrontation.
