Introducing Happy, the utterly charming Bengal cat whose disability hasn’t hindered her from enjoying life to the fullest. Despite being paralyzed for most of her life due to a spinal injury caused by a cat bite when she was just a few hours old, Happy’s loving owners have ensured that she has the best possible life. They take her on daily adventures and constantly come up with new and innovative ways to help her move around and stay comfortable.
Sarah, who works in a warehouse, shared how she and her partner were ecstatic to have adopted Happy, a rescue dog who needed extra attention and care. Despite knowing that Happy required a lot of help, they were amazed at how resilient she was. To aid her mobility, they initially planned on purchasing a customized wheelchair but realized that Happy wasn’t a big fan of it. Instead, they improvised by repurposing some materials into a sling where Happy could comfortably rest her legs.
Immediately, she adapted to it, and it serves as both a support for her and a leash for us, ensuring that she doesn’t run off on her front paws without our knowledge. She doesn’t feel confined and is extremely comfortable while wearing it.’ The pair brings Happy along with them wherever they go, from exploring caves and visiting nearby lakes to running errands and visiting petting zoos. The beach is the cat’s preferred spot, so they make frequent trips there to keep her happy.
According to Sarah, they visit the beach a couple of times weekly. When they are not at the beach, they take walks in the woods or go to the nearby park. Happy, their cat, is fond of the beach and enjoys sitting and wiggling in the sand. Sarah noticed that Happy likes to lead them onto difficult terrain. Despite being a small animal, she exerts strong pull towards the sea as soon as she touches the sand. Happy’s behavior is uncommon since she loves to splash around in the waves hitting the shore and eagerly searches through rock pools and small caves even attempting to squeeze into them.
One of her favorite activities is leaping through the muck left behind by the receding tide, turning the once sandy shore into a muddy mess. As a result, she always needs a bath when we return home. The beach has truly revitalized her, as evidenced by her tenacity in navigating various terrains and sands. Observing her determination and the freedom she experiences while frolicking in the slop is a joy. Additionally, she is growing stronger with each passing day.
The sociable and cheerful Happy has become quite the talk of the town. According to Sarah, people often approach them to take pictures with Happy and gush about how adorable she is. On a recent trip to a car boot sale, they spent hours chatting with people about their furry companion.
