I want to share with you the story of a stray cat that was rescued by Will Zweigart, a foster and rescue superhero who has been dedicated to assisting stray cats in Brooklyn for nearly 15 years now!

In Brooklyn, there is an abundance of stray cats that commonly form colonies. A particular colony made its home in Will’s backyard, where he feeds them on a regular basis.
One day, to Will’s surprise, a new ginger cat appeared. Intrigued, he set up a camera to observe the newcomer and was touched by what he discovered.
Normally, the cat colony in Will’s backyard would drive away any other strays attempting to eat from their food dish. But this time, they welcomed the ginger cat with open paws.
On YouTube, Will spotted the young boy struggling to breathe while enjoying his meal. Being a seasoned foster parent, he quickly identified the symptoms of a respiratory infection and made a firm decision to take him to the vet without delay.

However, capturing the elusive cat proved to be quite a challenge. The frightened feline was wary of people, but Will cleverly found a way to earn its trust. After setting a trap baited with food, the cat didn’t fall for it on the first try. Undeterred, Will patiently allowed the ginger furball to enjoy the meals inside the trap for days before finally setting it free.

Will decided to name the orange cat Julius and promptly welcomed him into his home. Julius appeared relaxed and wasted no time in finding a cozy cushion to curl up and take a nap on!
Thanks to YouTube, the following day Julius received a prescription for two rounds of antibiotics and was advised to get plenty of rest. Will made sure to isolate him from the house’s other cats to ensure a smooth recovery. Julius spent his days lounging on his cherished cushion, getting pampered by Will as he carefully brushed out his fur. After tending to his matted and tangled hair, Julius emerged looking like a handsome young cat!

Will utilized a moist and cozy washcloth to delicately wipe away all the mucus from his nose and eyes. Julius was treated like royalty and relished every moment of the pampering!

Following a fast visit to the vet, Julius was now rid of the respiratory infection! Just like Will mentioned in his video: “The most satisfying part of the recovery process is witnessing a cat eager and ready to play again.”

This was a clear sign that Julius was now available for adoption! Even though Will had formed a strong connection with Julius, he understood that it was time to find him a forever home. As Will explained, “Many people hesitate to foster animals because they fear the pain of saying goodbye after forming a bond. It is difficult, but it brings comfort knowing that Julius will be cherished and adored wherever he goes.”
