Settlement reached by United Airlines with family after tragic death of French bulldog in overhead bin incident

United Airlines has come to an agreement with a family whose French bulldog puppy tragically passed away from lack of air in an overhead bin. The puppy, known as Kokito, died earlier this year in a situation that United has admitted was not in line with their rules. Charles Hobart, a spokesperson for United, expressed their regret over the incident and stated that they have worked with the Robledo family to find a solution.

The young pup, named Kokito, died in March in a move that United has since said is against company policy

In March, a young dog named Kokito tragically passed away while on a United Airlines flight, causing an uproar as it was found to be against the airline’s policies. Following this incident, United Airlines started providing customers with distinctive bag tags for their in-cabin pets to ensure the safety of these furry companions during flights. It was reported that Kokito was crying inside the overhead bin until it ran out of air and succumbed to the lack of oxygen. According to United Airlines’ guidelines, all pets in the cabin must be in a carrier that fits entirely under the seat in front of the owner and must remain there throughout the flight.

'We are deeply sorry for this tragic accident and have worked with the Robledo family to reach a resolution,' United spokesman Charles Hobart said

“We express our sincerest apologies for the unfortunate incident and have collaborated with the Robledo family to come to a mutual agreement,” stated Charles Hobart, a representative from United Airlines.

Witnesses reported that the dog had been making distressing noises in the storage compartment above the seats until it tragically succumbed to lack of oxygen.

In April of the previous year, an unusually large rabbit named Simon passed away during a flight from London to Chicago on United Airlines.

United Airlines has faced a series of mishaps causing embarrassment in recent months.

After the incident involving a puppy, a flight had to be redirected when it was discovered that a passenger’s pet had been mistakenly placed on the wrong plane.

Furthermore, a German shepherd was mistakenly flown to Japan instead of its intended destination of Kansas City, Missouri.
