The people who adopted him were surprised to discover his distinctive eyes, as they were much lighter when he was a puppy. His eyes only began to take on their unique color as he matured.
Not every black cat will have orange eyes – in fact, their eye color can vary from green to hazel, and even copper. When they are little kittens, their eyes begin as blue, but as they mature, they will eventually settle into their adult eye color.
“After relocating from Sydney to Melbourne, we welcomed Gremlin into our home as a little furball. He’s turning 2 in December! It was a surprise to see his eyes turn into this captivating color, as they were much lighter when he was a kitten, like most cats with blue eyes. You can check out his earlier photos on our Instagram page – his eyes have definitely stood out more as he has matured. We playfully refer to Gremlin as our son, and he’s truly stolen our hearts,” shared Gremlin’s proud owner with Bored Panda.
Gremlin, now a grown-up feline, enjoys making silly faces and keeping his owners company while they’re busy working. All he really wants is to be by their side.
I am a musician, and he hangs out with me as I give music lessons and craft songs. My significant other is an independent video game creator, and Gremlin enjoys sitting in his workspace, providing companionship as he programs and designs games. During the lockdown in Melbourne, he has been a source of comfort and joy for us. His mere presence never fails to bring a smile to our faces.
This cat has captured the hearts of many with its charming yet eerie charm. A viewer shared, “I was immediately drawn to its beautiful eyes in the thumbnail. But when I clicked on the picture, I felt like I was whisked away to a surreal world where nothing is as it seems.”
