Similar to any typical feline, Bowie takes immense pleasure in indulging in a satisfying snooze and possesses an insatiable love for food. According to Maria, Bowie’s owner, there hasn’t been a single type of food that he hasn’t voraciously devoured. The mere sight of a bag of treats is enough to initiate an instant purring session. Maria also revealed that Bowie’s preferred playthings are tiny mice toys that contain objects inside, which create amusing sounds when shaken. Observing Bowie’s playful habits is a source of sheer joy, as he is known to enthusiastically toss the mice into the air and skillfully catch them once again. Bowie’s journey began when he was abandoned at a park, a mere 3 months old. However, luck was on his side, as a local animal shelter in Maria’s coastal hometown of Benidorm came across him, ultimately leading him to his forever home.

“My sister came across an advertisement seeking a loving family for a feline named Bowie. When we first met him, we instantly fell head over heels. Not only was he visually stunning, but his affectionate nature won us over. He would constantly purr and seek warmth from us. As soon as we brought him home, Bowie devoured his food like there was no tomorrow and peacefully drifted off to sleep in my embrace,” Maria shared, recounting the heartwarming experience of Bowie’s initial day with his newfound family.

Maria divulged that she has always been an advocate for adopting rescue cats. Her happiness knows no bounds, and she cannot fathom a life without her cherished rescue pets.

“Choosing to rescue an animal from a shelter instead of purchasing from other sources truly saves lives,” she emphasized. “There are countless animals out there longing for a second chance, for a loving family to embrace them. We make an effort to raise awareness about adopting black cats, for instance, because we previously had a black cat named Louis who was not in the best of health. However, with time and tender care, he made an incredible recovery and became an extraordinary companion. We miss him greatly.”

The owner of Bowie, a feline friend, explained that cats with certain characteristics, such as being black, older, disabled, or unwell, often face challenges finding homes. However, the owner believes these cats are truly special. Older cats are more calm and won’t wreak havoc on your furniture. Cats with health issues can teach you patience and show you the true meaning of love. And owning a black cat can bring you incredible luck, without a doubt!

Maria also mentioned receiving messages from people claiming that Bowie the singer didn’t have heterochromia. As devoted Bowie fans, they were well aware of this fact when they named their cat after him. Nevertheless, when gazing upon their feline’s face, they couldn’t think of a more fitting name. With Bowie’s captivating blue and green eyes and the unique marking on his nose, it felt like the perfect choice.
