A loyal and devoted dog named Capatan has been keeping watch over his owner’s grave for the past six years. Despite his owner’s passing, this German Shepherd remains committed to expressing his love and loyalty. It is believed that Capatan escaped following the death of his owner, Maguel, in 2006. The family eventually found the dog near Maguel’s resting place in central Argentina, where he has been guarding ever since.
Miguel Guzman gifted his son, Damian, with a loyal dog named Capitan in 2005. Since then, Capitan has been faithfully guarding Miguel’s burial site for more than six years. The family attests that Capitan almost never leaves the property. When they couldn’t find him one day, they searched high and low, but eventually assumed he had passed away after being hit by a car. Veronica Guzman, Miguel’s widow, recently shared this touching story with LaVoz.com.
Last Sunday, we visited the cemetery and discovered that our beloved pet had been damaged. Immediately, a sense of distress overwhelmed us as we saw the extent of the damage. Upon inquiry, we found out that Capitan had never been taken to the cemetery before, which added to the enigmatic situation. We couldn’t help but wonder how Capitan managed to locate the cemetery.
According to Hector Baccega, the caretaker of the cemetery, he and his team have taken it upon themselves to care for Capitan. This loyal dog found his way to the cemetery on his own and has been visiting his owner’s grave regularly ever since. Despite taking walks around the cemetery during the day, Capitan always returns to the grave at six o’clock every night to sleep.
The Guzman family has made various attempts to bring Capitan back home, but all efforts have been unsuccessful. Damian, a family member, thinks that Capitan will continue to stay at the cemetery until the end of his life because he is looking after his deceased owner.
