Simba the cat emerged victorious in a confrontation with a four-ton elephant that wandered into his garden in search of food

In an unexpected twist, a pet cat named Simba faced off against a four-ton elephant that wandered into its garden in Nakhon Nayok, Thailand, in search of food.

Remarkably unfazed by the massive intruder, the three-year-old cat managed to chase the elephant away successfully.

The elephant, a 35-year-old named Pai Salick, is locally recognized for causing mischief by trampling through gardens at night.

Despite the elephant’s size and potential threat, Simba’s courageous action prompted the massive animal to back off, leaving behind a garden strewn with splintered trees across the lawn.

Local park ranger Amnat Norasin shared that Pai Salick often wanders from the forest into residential areas in search of food, and the locals are accustomed to his visits.

In Thailand, elephants are a protected species, and there are stringent laws against harming them. Anyone found guilty of killing an elephant can face up to three years in prison and a fine of 1,000 baht (£25).

The Indian elephant, a subspecies of the Asian elephant, is native to Thailand and has been classified as endangered since 1986. These magnificent creatures have been culturally significant in the country for centuries.
